STARTING OVER!
Starting over is not a bad thing especially if you start over armed with the lesson you’ve learned. When you start over, you never start from your original position. So in essence, you may have to go back over some things and you may have to repeat the same steps you completed already but you do it from a new place.
Consider Morris D Ruff and his brothers that invented the original industrial cleaning product “Formula 409”. The product was so named because it took 409 times to get the formula right. Each time they had to go back into the lab and mix chemicals, they did it from a new position. They may have had to repeat some of the previous steps but they were armed with new information. “A mind stretched never goes back to its original position.” (Albert Einstein)
What insight have you gained by not being able to quite achieve what you have set out to do? Remember, life is always teaching you something, rather you are listening and heeding the lesson is another story altogether.
Many times when you are striving to achieve things rather great or small, you can become overwhelmed in how badly things turned out. I encourage you not to dwell on what didn’t work, but to give yourself credit for:
- Having a desire
- Activating your creative mind
- Taking action
- Making connections in order to take action
- Seeing it through
It is very important that you reflect on what you did do and celebrate the fact that you did something! Then further reflect of what was missed, what went wrong and learn from it.
There is no shame in starting over no matter where or what you are starting over from. Don’t allow a failed attempt to paralyze you for life. Look at a failed attempt as just that, an attempt. Don’t define all of who you are by an attempt. If you choose to look at it as a lesson taught and learn from that attempt you can be armed with new information to start again. Your next move can be the move that hits bulls eye, sends you over the top, make the greatest impact on the world. Don’t give up, don’t be afraid to start over, you can do it. Start over, you can begin again, yes you can!!!
